Liberty, part of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announced the appointment of Cynthia Sze as Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, effective May 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Sze will lead Liberty's unified Hong Kong business following the integration of its operations under a single licence, proposed to be effective on 1 April 2026. The unification brings together Liberty's personal, commercial and specialty insurance capabilities in the market, creating a stronger, more integrated platform to serve agents, brokers, clients, and partners across Hong Kong.
Based in Hong Kong, Sze will report to Matthew Jackson, President, Liberty International Insurance, Asia Pacific. "2026 is a defining year for Liberty in Hong Kong and across Asia Pacific," said Jackson.
“Operating as one Liberty in-market enables us to deliver clarity, consistency and capability to our customers and distribution partners. Cynthia's leadership experience and deep market expertise position us well for the next phase of growth."
- Matthew Jackson, President, Liberty International Insurance Asia Pacific

The integration also marks a leadership transition. Eddie Young, Vice President & Chief Executive of Liberty Specialty Markets, and Cynthia Leung, Finance Leader of Liberty Insurance, will leave Liberty at the end of July following completion of the unification.
"Eddie and Cynthia have provided dedicated leadership and stability during a significant period of change for our Hong Kong operations," Jackson added. "Their contributions have been instrumental in positioning the business for successful integration and future growth. We thank them for their commitment and wish them continued success in their next chapters."
